Rating: T

With the knowledge of the four newly revealed Warriors now under Myotismon’s hold, the remaining six and Daisuke went after them. They arrived just in time to see Myotismon torturing the four Digimon Warriors, which unfortunately their Human partners too felt the pain, giving away their identity. They decided to jump in and save them as the Xros Heart United Team arrived and returned the four D-Tectors that were placed in a different location to try and fool the other Warriors. With the devices in their hands, all ten Warriors for the first time fought together and defeated Myotismon. But that’s when the portal Myotismon opened up earlier sucked them in, along with the other group of DigiDestined that tried to save them but failed.

Chapter 28: Underwater Depths

In a dark area that is only lit by a viewing portal, a tall figure watches a few beams of light scattering around the four locations of the re-constructed Spiral Mountain, home of the Dark Masters. By altering the portal a bit, the figure discovered that the seven Heroes are too separated from one another.

“Perfect,” the figure said, “everything’s going according to the plan.”

Takuya groans as he slowly open his eyes to be met with white sand. Lifting himself up, the Flame Warrior discovers he’s at a beach with the ocean right behind him.

“Am I, back in the Digital World?” Takuya asks to no one in particular.

“Well it sure feels like the Digital World,” said a voice, making Takuya jump slight.

He looks around frantically for a moment before finally recognizing the voice. Taking out his D-Tector, Takuya smiles when he sees Flamon is safely in the device.

“Now how did you get back in there?” asks Takuya.

“I must have got sucked in while we went through that portal Myotismon opened up back in the Human World,” said Flamon.

Takuya nods in understanding before realizing something; he’s not the only one that entered the portal!

“Where’s everyone else?!” Takuya asks in a frantic.

“We must have got separated when we went through the portal,” said Flamon.

Takuya tries to detect anyone’s Digivice signal with his D-Tector, but all he got was static.

“Agh, something’s interfering with the signal,” grumbles Takuya, shaking his D-Tector a bit.

“Hey!” cries Flamon, “Careful with that, you’re making me feel sick!”

“Oops, sorry,” said Takuya sheepishly, stopping the shaking but the signal is still not clear, “But how are we going to find the others if we can’t track their signal?”

“Takuya!” a voice calls out, making said Warrior turn towards the source.

“Man, I’m glad to see you guys,” said Takuya with a grin as he sees JP, Koji, Yutaka and Tanya rushing up to him.

“We’re glad to see you too,” JP said with a relief, “especially since we thought you would end up like the other five.”

“What other five?” Takuya asks curiously.

“The other Warriors,” said Koji, “They’ve been kidnapped.”

“What?!” gasps Takuya in shock, “How did that happened?!”

“Koji, Koichi and I somehow managed to stay close together when we awaken,” said Tanya, “But not that long after we woke up, some diver-looking Digimons that Rainmon told us are called Divermon came after me. Koichi managed to save me and told Koji to take me far away from them as possible.”

“It was around that time they ran into me just as I lost Richard the same way they lost Koichi,” admits JP, “Except that those Divermon only distract me long enough to grab him instead.”

“Same for what happened to Tommy, though Shinya managed to jump in and tried to drag my brother out before he too got taken away,” mention Yutaka.

“Wait, I only count four of us being taken,” realizes Takuya, “What about Zoe?”

“We didn’t see her at all, but Rainmon was so confident that she was taken too,” said Tanya.

“Let me guess,” started Flamon, “you know because you can sense hers and Bayumon’s presence somewhere in the ocean right Rainmon?”

“You hit the nail on the head,” said Rainmon. “Tanya, can you please let me out?”

“Sure, but, uh,” said Tanya, taking out her D-Tector and started pressing randomly, “I still don’t know how to use this thing.”

Just as she said that, a beam of light shot out from the device and Rainmon now stood before the five Humans.

“Well, that works,” said Tanya.

“Anyway how did you know Zoe was captured when none of us were with her?” asks JP.

“I’ll show y’all,” said Rainmon, gesturing the Humans closer to the water before she waver a hand over it.

All five of them gasp upon seeing an image forming on the surface, showing exactly what happened right at the moment the other five Warriors were taken, and that includes Zoe. Rainmon then wave her hand again revealing the other five Warriors trapped in some sort of underwater cave without one another.

“I even manage to know their locations,” explains Rainmon, “But I don’t know exactly who is where.”

“Then we’ll just have to save them one by one,” suggests Yutaka.

“We can’t,” said Rainmon, waving her hand over the water again to reveal five blinking lights, with the Digimon Water Warrior pointing at the one located very far from the other four, “One of them is located over here. If we try to save the furthest first, then we won’t make it to save the others.”

“What about saving the closest first then the furthest?” Yutaka asks.

“If we do that, we can only save at least two of them,” informs Rainmon.

“Why’s that?” asks JP.

“I sense a terrible seaquake is happening soon,” admits Rainmon, “We only have until then to save them and at least head to the surface if not dry land by the time it strikes. If we don’t, those caves will fall and most likely kill them either by the rocks or drowning from the sea water seeping in.”

“I’m sorry I asked,” whimpers JP.

“So what do we do then?” asks Koji.

“We split up.”

Everyone turn to look at Tanya, surprise that she answered since they were expecting Rainmon to give the suggestion.

“Think about it,” started Tanya, “we can’t save them one at a time, so the best bet is to save all five of them at the same time. But that can only work if each of us saves one of them. Rainmon and I would head towards the furthest point. After all, Rainmon probably know the ocean the best out of everyone here and she could get us there two times faster than any of y’all.”

“I guess you made a good point,” said Yutaka.

“Wait, Rainmon did you detect anyone else besides us Warriors nearby or being held captive?” asks Takuya.

“Sorry, but there’s only us Warriors around,” Rainmon said with an apologetic tone.

“Oh,” breathes Takuya, looking down slightly.

Koji sees this and place a hand on Takuya’s shoulder, getting the Flame Warrior’s attention, “We’ll find the others, but right now we have our own team to save.”

“Um, not that I’m against the plan or anything,” started JP, “but how can we get it to work? I mean, there’s no way any of us could hold our breath underwater long enough to save any of them.”

“Don’t worry honey, leave that to me,” Rainmon said with a wink.
Rainmon then takes off her necklace before separating the ten large bubbles that made it with ease, giving two to each Human.

“What are these?” asks Takuya, looking over the items in his hands.

“It looks see through,” notice Yutaka, “like looking through a bubble.”

“That’s because it is a real bubble,” said Rainmon, “I created them using some of my powers to make a large enough bubble solid and weave it with what I have to make my necklace. It drained me out whenever I had to make a new one so I only used those bubbles for emergencies.”

“You sure about this?” asks Tanya, “Like you said, it’ll drain you if you have to replace at least one of them.”

“But it won’t be so much if I make a smaller bubble,” Rainmon pointed out, “Which is a good thing since I have to make five of them for y’all to breathe underwater.”

That earn surprise gasps from the five Humans, before Rainmon continues, “The smaller bubbles that I’ll make will not make y’all breathe underwater as long as the large ones in your hands will, but it’ll last long enough to find one of the others if there wasn’t much trouble. And for it to work, you just need to chew and swallow it all up.”

“Just like that?” asks Richard, which Rainmon nods.

“But why can’t we just use one of these large ones instead?” asks Takuya.

“Because we don’t know what would happened when the seaquake strikes,” argues Rainmon, “For all we know some of us might get trapped and would have a hard time getting out. At least if y’all use the large bubbles when that happens will give plenty of time to find a way out and resurface when the effect wears off.”

“Guess when you put it that way,” said Takuya in understanding.

“There’s just one thing I’m worried about,” said Cybermon from Yutaka’s D-Tector, “What are we going to do if we run into trouble since, besides Rainmon, none of us could really fight underwater.”

“Then we’ll just have to make sure none of MetalSeadramon’s goons see us while sneaking in,” said Koji.

“We’d better get going now if we want to make it,” said Rainmon, “I’ll start creating the small bubbles y’all will need to get going.”

“How long do we have until the seaquake strikes anyway?” Yutaka asks.

There was a moment of silence as Rainmon concentrates her power to successfully create five bubbles that are about half the size as the two each Human are holding before answering Yutaka’s question, “We only have an hour before that happens.”

“Then let’s move,” instructs Takuya as he along with the other four Human Warriors take one of the smaller bubbles each.

The five Humans carefully keep the two larger bubbles safely away before swallowing the smaller ones and diving into the water along with Rainmon. Through instincts, the Humans instantly hold their breath while diving before realizing they can breathe and see underwater just fine.

“I told y’all I can help with breathing underwater,” said Rainmon.

“Great, let’s go save the others already,” said Takuya before informing, “We may not be able to find each other’s signal, but we can still call one another. Contact each other if we run into trouble or when we’ve rescued one of the others and make it to safety, got it?”

“Got it,” JP said for everyone else.

And with that, Takuya, Koji, JP and Yutaka start heading towards one of the four closer locations as Tanya grab hold of Rainmon before the two of them quickly head towards the furthest point one of the remaining Warriors are located.

Tanya’s POV

It feels very amazing swimming this fast with Rainmon. I mean, I’ve always been known as the fastest swimmer in my school but this feeling is nothing like anything I’ve ever felt before. The rush of the water passing through me is thrilling and also refreshing. But I guess that’s what I get for being the Water Warrior, which I’m still having a hard time grasping the idea.

“We’re here,” informs Rainmon, and only now I notice that we stopped moving. Had I really been lost in my thought during the whole trip?

I look around and spotted a small opening of sort in between some rocks right in front of us, which is only big enough for the two of us to enter one at a time. This is exactly what Rainmon and I did as she let me enter first before we resurface inside the cave. It’s a good thing too since I was starting to feel a bit dizzy not that long ago, probably that the effect of the small bubble I swallowed earlier starts to wear off.

“You alright?” asks Rainmon, as I felt her place a hand on my shoulder.

“Just a bit dizzy,” I admitted, “Guess that bubble wears off just now.”

Rainmon nods in understanding as the two of us start to head deeper into the cave. But we didn’t have to move far as we found an open space, with Zoe trapped inside a cage placed right in the middle of it, unconscious and injured!

“Zoe!” I gasp, ready to run over to her.

“Tanya, wait!” cries out Rainmon, making me look at her in confusion.

But just as I take another step forward, the ground below my feet collapse, making me lose my balance slightly. I would have fallen in if Rainmon didn’t quickly pull me to safety.

“Thanks,” I said, getting back on my feet.

“I knew that this seems a little too easy so I figured there might be a trap set up somewhere,” explains Rainmon.

“I guess you’re right about that,” I said before looking at the giant fissure-like gap preventing us from reaching Zoe, “but how are we going to get there? I doubt we can jump all the way there.”

Suddenly the ground starts to shake again, making us loose our balance a bit, before we heard something crashing from behind us. We turn around and gasp upon seeing our only way out blocked, with the ceiling now letting water flow in.

“The seaquake’s a lot worse than we thought!” I pointed out, but that’s when I notice Rainmon in deep thought.

Rainmon’s POV

Something’s off about that last quake. I don’t know what, but something tells me it’s not a normal quake.

“Rainmon?” calls out Tanya, knocking me out of my thought, “Is everything alright?”

“Yeah, it’s probably nothing,” I reassured, mostly to myself.

“Rainmon is that you?” a voice calls out, and I let out a loud gasp upon recognizing it.

“Bayumon!” I gasps, “Where are you?!”

“Look up!” she instructed, and both Tanya and I did just that.

“Wait, isn’t that Zoe’s D-Tector?!” asks Tanya.

Sure enough, there on the ceiling of the cave is a smaller cage than the one Zoe’s in, with the purple D-Tector sticking out slightly at the edge.

“Get me down from here quickly!” begs Bayumon, “I’m about to get crushed by the ceiling!”

“We’re coming!” I cried out.

“And how do we do that?” asks Tanya.

“With one of my attacks,” I said in an ‘as a matter of fact’ voice.

Water Arr-

“WHOA!” I scream out as another seaquake strikes, making me let lose my ‘Water Arrow’ attack randomly! But luck seems to be on our side since the attack hits directly at the bottom of the cage, creating a hole that's wide enough for the D-Tector to fall out of. Tanya sees this and quickly grabs the Device before it could fall into the gap between the two of us and Zoe’s cage. Once it’s in Tanya’s hands, a beam of light shot out of it, releasing Bayumon from within.

Gale Blast

Bayumon release a pink sphere-like attack right towards Zoe’s cage, creating an opening for her to pull the Human out of the cage. Once Bayumon manage to bring Zoe to us, both Tanya and I immediately rush to her side, just as Zoe flutter her eyes open.

Zoe’s POV

“Tanya…?” I call out softly, now realizing how weak I am.

“Don’t worry, we’ll get you out of here,” Tanya reassures, helping me get back on my feet.

But as soon as I got back up, I stumble slightly as a wave of pain flows over my right leg. Looking down at it, I notice a bruise over my right ankle, no doubt its sprain judging by how big it looks.

“Here let me take care of that,” I heard Tanya said before she untied her blue scarf and wraps it around the bruise, “That should do until we’re back with the others.”

Just then, Tanya’s D-Tector beeps and she takes it out, which I notice has the Light symbol on its screen.

“Tanya, can you hear me?” Koji’s voice is heard coming out from it.

“Loud and clear Koji,” Tanya said, “Is something the matter?”

“No, not really,” reassures Koji, “We were just wondering if you guys are having trouble since the rest of us are already back on the beach.”

“Yeah, it’s just taking a while for us since we’re pretty far away from the others, remember?” Tanya said and only now I know anything about anyone else since returning to the Digital World.

“We’ll be on our way,” said Rainmon, “we just got Zoe and Bayumon to safety.”

Tanya disconnects the call just as Rainmon gives me this big sphere that looks like a bubble. I look at her in confusion before the Water Digimon Warrior said, “You’ll need it shortly.”

Bayumon seems to understand what Rainmon’s thinking as she suddenly enters my D-Tector. I’m still a bit confused at what’s going on so I look at Tanya, who’s holding a similar sphere in her hands before she swallowed hers. I decided to do the same with mine since I don’t really have anything else to do with it anyway.

But as soon as I did, another quake strikes. It was because of an earlier quake that knocked me unconscious in the first place after I got captured.

“The quake’s getting stronger,” informs Rainmon, “We only have enough time to get out of here before the cave collapse.”

“Then let’s move,” Tanya said, grabbing my hand and drags me into the water!

I thought that I would drown since I didn’t have the time to hold my breath, but I was surprise that I can actually breathe! But then again, this did happen to me back when I first found my beast Spirit so I’m not that entirely surprise. Rainmon grabs a hold of mine and Tanya’s hand before swimming as fast as she can out of the cave. It’s a good thing too since another quake strikes and blocks the entrance, just as soon as we got out.

No one’s POV

“That sure was a close call,” said Tanya.

“So how far away is it to the others?” asks Zoe.

“Quite far,” answers Rainmon, “but we can make it since the effect of those bubbles y’all swallowed last two times longer than the one Tanya had to get here.”

“But let’s not take the risk,” Bayumon said from within the D-Tector, “Who knows what the path back is like after the last few quakes.”

“She has a good point there,” agrees Zoe.

“Then hold on,” Rainmon said, keeping a firm grip on the two humans hands before swimming off.

But they didn’t get to go far before an attack was launched directly towards then, forcing Rainmon to swim upwards to dodge. But one of the attacks manages to hit the Water Digimon, forcing her to let go of Zoe and Tanya, with Tanya feeling a small sting at where the attack hit Rainmon.

“Where did that came from?” asks Zoe, just as a giant serpent creature appears before them.

“So, looks like I was right,” he said, “the Warrior of Water did show up like I hoped.”

“Wait, isn’t that thing a MegaSeadramon?” Tanya asks, remembering how Michael’s partner turned into one back in Japan.

“Close,” the Digimon said, “My name is MetalSeadramon, one of the Dark Masters, and you had fallen right into my trap.”

“Are you saying this is all a setup?!” Rainmon gasp in realization.

“Indeed,” confirms MetalSeadramon, “and you had played according to my plan.”

“Wait, why would you need to get rid of Tanya and Rainmon specifically anyway?” asks Zoe, “I mean, isn’t Takuya the main target since he has that strange symbol thing on him?”

“That may be true, but he is completely useless in a water environment,” said MetalSeadramon, “So the only way to defeat him is to destroy the only Warrior with the same advantage as me, namely the Warrior of Water!”

River of Power

“LOOK OUT!”

All three of them manage to dodge as fast as they can away from an energy cannon launched from the tip of Metalseadramon's nose. But as soon as they did, both humans are grabbed from behind by a couple of Divermons!

“Hey!”

“Let go of me!”

“Tanya! Zoe!”

Water Arrows

Rainmon release a bunch of arrows at the same time, but all of them always miss the target since more Divermons keep getting in the way. But the more she launches, the fewer enemies blocking the Water Digimon from freeing the two humans, leaving only the last two.

“Gotcha,” Rainmon smirks, aiming two arrows at the Divermons without harming Tanya and Zoe in their grasps.

Water-

Hot Squeeze

“Hey, wha- AAAH!”

“RAINMON!”

MetalSeadramon manage to sneak up behind while Rainmon’s distracted to constricts himself around her, squeezing the Water Digimon tightly in his grasp.

“AGH!” Rainmon struggles to get out of the hold she’s in, but it doesn’t seem to work at all.

“LET HER GO!” Tanya begs, just as she suddenly starts to cough a bit for some reason.

“Tanya?” Zoe asks, just before she too starts to cough, “What’s… going on…?”

Tanya cough a bit before she gasp in realization, “The bubbles effect is wearing off!”
DUN, DUN, DUN! Cliffhanger! Sorry about that, but I had to get this up now seeing as I haven’t updated in a LONG time! To tell you the truth I was planning on doing a double update on this story, but I feel like this story's been on hold long enough that one update should be fine for now.
